His Highness Sheikh Majid bin Mohammed was appointed as Chairman of the Dubai Cultures and Arts Authority in March 2008, based on a decree issued by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum establishing the authority. This decision was based on the capabilities of leadership clearly exhibited by Sheikh Majid Bin Mohammed and his interest in culture and arts at a young age.
This opportunity presented a new challenge to His Highness to achieve the vision and revelation of the 2015 Strategic Plan of Dubai especially that the world considers it a destination that welcomes, connects and unites all ethnicities under one alliance. Thus, the authority was established to create a cultural combination that will unite and blend the passion, quality, diversity, and commitment that already exists among the different regional and international artistic and cultural organizations.
